Building a Healthy Community

Building a Healthy Community, a 4-hour forum in Albany, Oregon, on Jan. 25, 2016, brought together health and housing experts working to address the social determinants of health, one major issue being inadequate or outright unhealthy housing. This radio program provides background on the issues and excerpts from panel discussions. It shows that the way Oregon addresses health care, public health, and our enormous housing needs, is changing—but as the experts discuss some of the problems, it seems that this is only the beginning. They all agreed that more and better collaboration is needed, and the state is ready for it.
