Please volunteer for a 2-hr shift at the Benton Country Fair, here.

Communications Committee

This is the committee responsible for creating news releases; writing, preparing, and distributing the MVHCA monthly newsletter; for keeping the monthly Darkside Cinema ad fresh and timely; and providing support to letter-writers. banner-makers, and website content writers. We make sure the public and our membership are informed about MVHCA’s plans, strategies, and activities. One of our devoted members manages the MVHCA Facebook and Twitter accounts. We hope to recruit someone to create and manage an Instagram account. Is this person you? Please join us!

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, every month, in the Music Room at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 4515 W Hills Rd, from 10 a.m. to noon. In January 2019, we’ve changed the day to January 16 for that meeting only.

Legislative Committee

This committee works to advance and support legislative approaches to achieving publicly funded universal health care in Oregon as well as at the national level. The committee presents public comment at legislative hearings in Salem, attending Legislative Task Force and Work Group meetings, meeting with our district representatives in the Senate and the House (both Federal and State), and networking with the statewide organization Health Care for All Oregon. The Legislative Committee contributes to and supports the work of other MVHCA committees, particularly Outreach and Communications.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays from 9:3- to 11:30 a.m. in rooms 11-12 at the Corvallis Church of the Good Samaritan, 333 NW 35th Street.

Outreach Committee

This committee disseminates information about the U.S. health care system and why we need universal health care. Channels include tabling at the Farmer's Market and other community events, canvassing, speaking at civic and community meetings, leading small group discussions, presenting films, establishing and nurturing contact with like-minded organizations, producing online meetings and webinars, and supporting Health Care for ALL Oregon chapters and other advocacy groups. So much to do and so little time. Please come help.

We meet on the third Thursday of each month, from 2 to 4 pm, in the Upper Fellowship Hall of Saint Mary's Church, 501 NW 25th Street in Corvallis. For more information, contact Marc Betz, Outreach Chair, at or phone 541 908 2297.
